• Del Oro Caregiver Resource Center
  The mission at Del Oro Caregiver Resource Center is to improve the well being of caregivers and provide support throughout the caregiving experience. Del Oro's services include-information and referral, family consultation services, and contractual services for legal and financial advice, family counseling and respite care to caregivers.
• Alzheimer's Association of the Greater Sacramento Area
  The Alzheimer's Association of the Greater Sacramento Area offers information about support groups, care options, education and training opportunities, caregiver issues and current research on Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.
• UC Davis Alzheimer's Disease Center
  The UC Davis ADC has several important goals: educating health professionals and the public about Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, conducting research in clinical and community populations into the causes and potential treatments for dementia, advocating changes in health policy and practice that will enhance the recognition, treatment and management of dementia, and serving as an expert referral center for the diagnosis of dementia. Their website posts current clinical trials, explains their diagnostic services and provides updates on workshops and classes specifically for caregivers of someone with dementia.
• California Paid Family Leave
  Workers can get up to six weeks of partial pay a year while taking time from work to care for a new child or sick family member. Most people get just over half (55%) of their usual pay, up to a maximum, while on leave. The payments are distributed by the EDD, a state agency, not the employer.

• Family Caregiver Alliance
  Founded in 1977, Family Caregiver Alliance was the first community-based non-profit organization in the country to address the needs of families and friends providing long-term care at home. This website has comprehensive information on everything related to caring for someone with dementia, including dealing with difficult behaviors, nutrition, personal care and handling the stress of being a caregiver.
• Link2Care
  A program of Family Caregiver Alliance and California's Resource Centers, Link2Care is an online information and support program for family caregivers in California. The resources on the site are specifically designed for those providing care for someone who is living with a disease-related dementia such as Alzheimer's Disease, stroke, Parkinson's Disease, and Multiple sclerosis.
• Stanford School of Medicine-Caregiver Assistance Programs
  This link provides comprehensive information in several languages for taking care of your loved one who has dementia at home.
• National Alzheimer's Association
  The Alzheimer's Association, the world leader in Alzheimer research and support, is the first and largest voluntary health organization dedicated to finding prevention methods, treatments and an eventual cure for Alzheimer's. This website has extensive information on symptoms of dementia as well as the stages of the disease and impact on different cultural groups.

Advocacy and Public Awareness

• California Association of Adult Day Services (CAADS)
  CAADS is a not-for-profit statewide association to support the development of adult day services as an alternative to institutional care. CAADS' purpose is to inspire, provide leadership, and facilitate the success of its members who support and assist people with long-term challenges in realizing their individual potential. CAADS members include providers, local government, case managers, consultants, vendors and others interested in supporting the mission of the organization. CAADS website includes information on adult day services throughout California.
• National Alliance for Caregiving
  The National Alliance for Caregiving is dedicated to providing support to family caregivers and the professionals who help them, and to increasing public awareness of issues facing family caregivers.
• National Family Caregivers Association
  The National Family Caregivers Association (NFCA) supports, empowers, educates, and speaks up for the more than 50 million Americans who care for a chronically ill, aged, or disabled loved one. NFCA reaches across the boundaries of different diagnoses, different relationships and different life stages to address the common needs and concerns of all family caregivers. We are committed to improving the overall quality of life of caregiving families and minimizing the disparities between family caregivers and non-caregivers.
• National Institute of Aging
  The U.S. Congress created the Alzheimer's Disease Education and Referral (ADEAR) Center in 1990 to "compile, archive, and disseminate information concerning Alzheimer's disease" for health professionals, people with AD and their families, and the public.
• State Department of Social Services-Community Care Licensing Division
